About Us

Here at TC Smith Produce it is a family tradition.

For over four generations, the Smith Family has cultivated land situated 12 miles southwest of Kinston, North Carolina, in the Strabane Community of Lenoir County. Originally focused on livestock farming, Mr. Curtis’ late father T. C. Smith and mother Nell Smith transitioned from hog production to a cow/calf operation in the late ’70s. In 1985, our farm expanded to include the cultivation of fruits and vegetables. With over three decades of expertise, we bring a wealth of experience to strawberry cultivation.

At TC Smith Produce, our cultivation extends beyond strawberries to include a diverse range of fresh produce such as cantaloupes, watermelons, honeydew melons, asparagus, broccoli, sweet corn, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, collards, and various other fruits and vegetables.

Our retail market, situated on the farm, serves the local community, while additional markets in La Grange and Kinston offer wider accessibility. For broader distribution, we operate a sizable wholesale warehouse on-site, facilitating direct shipments to grocers and restaurants. Notably, Curtis has made appearances on TV, featured alongside world-renowned chef Vivian Howard from Chef and Farmer.

At TC Smith Produce, our commitment is to supply sustainably grown fruits and vegetables not only to our local community but also to our state and nation. As a family-owned business, we want our customers to understand that each one is highly valued.

We appreciate your support, and always remember,  “We are large enough to deliver, yet small enough to care.”

Respectfully yours,

Curtis and Kim Smith
